Chemotherapy hampers reproduction of cells by affecting one of the stages of cell production. When disturbance occurs in hair follicle cells, hair loss occurs.
Drugs
Some birth control pills, excess of vitamin A, antidepressants, anticoagulants etc. can also cause hair loss.
Menopause
During menopause, women experience decline in estrogen levels which creates an imbalance in testosterone. It causes hormonal imbalance which can be the reason of hair loss.

Many women experience hair loss after pregnancy because of reduced levels of estrogen. It generally improves when body returns back to its normal after 3-4 months.
